Background: Sebastian was born into a well-known family of English aristocrats who owned a large section of the railroad business when it first began to come about. Because of this, he was already propelled into the life of the highest upper class even before he could speak, thus learning from the very beginning that the only way to go forward in life was to succeed others. Sebastian was the youngest of three brothers, and was the rebel of the family, doing what he was told by day and cutting loose at night; however, this usually meant that he would withdraw to himself in the mansion’s grand library, staying up for entire nights at a time simply reading about the world and what it entailed. His father would discourage this intensely, but his mother would come to his defense, saying that if he didn’t learn about the world himself, he would never learn about it at all.
- He was twenty three when he read about the Fountain of Youth. Ever since just breathing the words himself Sebastian had been completely seduced by the idea of eternal youthfulness…he decided when he came of age that he would rather study at a university rather than continue the railroad business like his brothers before him, and when he finally moved into his quarters at Ingolstadt for schooling, he took the opportunity to continue his dabbling in the Fountain’s recesses. After a while of sniffing into it, he eventually found a lead: he was to perform a blood sacrifice in order to gain access to the Holy Waters.
- By now, he was infatuated, obsessed with the idea of it, and now looked forward to his immortality with such a powerful hunger that it bordered on the insane. Sebastian immediately began looking for the right candidate for the sacrifice, as it had to be someone as pure as humanly possible; he attempted the ritual with a number of girls he had lured into his suspension, but after spilling their blood, the young man found with violent impatience that none of them had been the correct amount of purity needed. On and on he scoured for months, until finally Sebastian found the ideal candidate for his ritual…his own younger sister Emilie, only 6 years of age.
- In the fit of a mad dog he seized the plan, coaxing his sister with charming grins and promises of excitement into the room of his studies…where, as soon as the door latched shut, he stabbed her to death 4 times over before she could even scream. He knelt by her corpse and, instead of simply spilling her blood as was ordained in the ritual, began greedily drinking her blood as it welled from her sucking stab wounds, filling his stomach with the life of his baby sister… Until, finally, it had worked. With a cry of pain Sebastian fell to the floor on his hands and knees, body racked with pain as he felt the years of his future life being cleared one by one into a blank slate; but that certainly was not the end of the matter. Consumed with a greedy hunger for power, he set his family’s estate alight, burning everything and everyone inside to naught but ashes. When he heard the baying of bloodhounds and the clacking hooves of horses on cobblestone, Sebastian vanished into the night, never to be seen again.
- After a year or two, however, Sebastian’s guilt caught up with him, and he felt the full regret deserved for the atrocities he had committed that fateful night. As the years passed, one by one, he vowed to always atone for what he had done, making himself an animal of the night, constantly hungry for the blood of the pure… With this he is tortured, never again to know a moment where his throat is not parched for the life of another. Over time, he found himself in Vector City, living off of the scum of the underground until he can find the ultimate purity off of which to feed.
Personality: Melancholic, enjoys the finer things in life, tortured, easily irritated, disdainful, old-fashioned
Physical condition: Gets sick easily, except for when he manages to drink enough blood to sustain his thirst for purity
Distinguishable marks: A large cross-shaped burn on his collar bone from where he was once tortured by a priest (in the 1900s); a great expansion of his right arm and half of his face is covered in a scar from the fire he set to his family’s mansion
Dress: Old clothes from the Victorian era; this is what he’s most comfortable in
Sense of humor: Dark and often inappropriate; usually just consists of making fun of others
Temper: Hard to make him furious; however, it’s very simply to make him irritated
Choice of entertainment: It depends on his mood
Strengths: His self-discipline, his charisma, his manners (comes from his years as an aristocrat)
Weakness: His vanity, his thirst for feeding, he often judges others quite critically
Dexterity: More than perfect
Health: High
Likes: The taste of metal, cold weather, impressing people, puzzles, riddles, fine cuisine, learning about the modern worlds as they come era by era
Dislikes: Heat, the sun (he can stand in it, but he doesn’t like to for long periods), dogs, churches, being known as just a vampire
Intelligence: Above average
Charisma: Moderate, high
Powers:
- Can use charm to lure people easily into giving him their blood
- Can shift into a black smoke when needed
- Can smell blood from up to five miles away
- Can breathe frost at will
Gear: Nothing notable
Zodiac sign: Cancer
Eyesight: Perfect in darkness, lacking in daylight
Hearing: More than perfect
Special training: None
Mental Illness: Often fights bouts of depression about the past; usually can get over them, though
Sebastian Fun Facts:
- He has a terrible case of heirophobia, the innate fear of priests or anything of religious sacredness. He's always had it since he was young, but since becoming a vampire he has been in a few scattered instances where he's been tortured by priests in an attempt to "excise his daemons" - he's never been in so much pain as when a priest is around, so he automatically relates the thought of them to agony.
- He usually tries to avoid sleep, because often he wakes up soaked in sweat from a nightmare about Emilie.
- He's rather fond of birds, and he has his own pet crow, a girl named Annabel. Sebastian almost never travels anywhere without her, and the two are nearly inseparable.
